Google uses the conext sesitive artwork (styles) in reference to contemporary news, even, festival etc. very intelligently. Be it Halloween’s Day, Gandhi Birthday, Independence day, International festivals like Diwali, Chirstmas etc.

As a result of this strategy, we are all used to seeing new innovative ways of Google’s acknowledgement of the community, culture and paying respect to the great people.
What surprised me today was the poorly used color scheme and poor artwork for depicting Winter Olympics 2010 (Skiing) in their home page and search results. The artwork makes the Google logo fade into the background and neither mascot, nor the logo can be identified with ease.

P.S. I wonder if this is any kind of violation of terms (displaying the logo in the post). If so, I shall have no issues in removing / diffusing these
